Barbecue! It’s what’s for breakfast.
Well, at least on this particular morning.
We got a behind the scenes peek at the brand new Q39 location at College and Antioch in Overland Park.
Now, it has the same award-winning menu and welcoming feel of the original location in midtown but there are some special touches here, too.
For example, they have a beautiful patio for outdoor dining, a huge see-through kitchen, a banquet kitchen area and a butcher room!
You can see what’s happening in the 55-degree butcher room from outside and from the waiting area.
According to renowned pit-master Rob Magee business has been brisk for the brisket here…a dream come true nearly four years in the making.
There are many BBQ memories at this particular intersection.
The new Q39 is exactly where BBQ history was made by the Baron of BBQ, himself, Hayward Spears.
There is a tribute wall to Spears and Haywards but the best tribute of all is in the meat.
Luckily for us, Rob Magee demonstrated the right way to inspect, prepare, rub and slice the stuff!
