To celebrate Mother’s Day, we partner with André’s Chocolates to prepare a feast fit for a queen featuring the ultimate BBQ-lovers quiche. The great minds of Pastry Chef and Chocolatier Rene Bollier and our Executive Chef Philip Thompson came together to create the original hit, the Brisket Quiche. Learn more about it here.

As we all know, KC BBQ pairs perfectly with locally crafted beer. Local brewery Casual Animal focuses on quality over quantity and puts the interests of our community at the forefront. We host a four-course dinner featuring specifically paired beer from Causal Animal. Learn more here.

This August, we partnered with Mayor Quinton Lucas (mayor Q) to celebrate his 39th birthday. During his birthday month, we added his favorite special sandwich to our menu, a Brisket Grilled Cheese. All proceeds from the sale of “The Mayor ‘Q’ 39”  were donated to Corey’s Network to fund their mission of providing immediate services, support and advocacy for surviving victims of homicide in the KC Metro.

Johnson County Community College has one of the top culinary arts and hospitality programs in the country. Students obtain real-world experience and applicable training by learning hands-on at local operations. At Q39, students and apprentices work in our up-to-date kitchen while learning about the multiple facets of a fast-paced, successful restaurant business. Learn more about their program here.

At the University of Kansas Cancer Center, late founder Chef Rob Magee received outstanding care for colon cancer, the second most-fatal cancer in America. Every March, Q39 recognizes Colorectal Cancer Awareness month with Q for a Cause to raise awareness and funds for research.
In honor of the beloved Irish holiday, the day Chef Rob and co-founder Kelly got engaged, Q39 features a brisket Reuben all month long. A portion of proceeds go towards the Rob Magee Memorial Fund for Cancer Research. Check out our blog post to learn more.

Smoke in the Spring is an annual State BBQ Championship competition hosted in Osage City, KS. Up and coming as one of the premiere BBQ competitions in the U.S., Q39 has proudly paid tribute to our competition heritage over the years by competing and sponsoring the event.

Bee KC is devoted to protecting and spreading the love of honeybees and raising awareness of their importance to our everyday lives. We’re happy to support this community effort because honey is a key ingredient in our barbeque. We even have a Honey BBQ glaze! Learn more about Bee KC here.

Certified Angus Beef (CAB) was founded over forty years ago to establish a quality standard in the beef industry. The beef is a traditional product, but compared to other “Angus” beef, there’s nothing traditional about it. It adheres to CAB’s 10 quality standards that only 3 in 10 Angus cattle meet, making it the very best Angus beef available.

“If it’s not certified, it’s not the best.” Q39 only serves CAB products for our beef menu items. While it might cost a little more, our guests are treated to the best beef quality every time.

A cause true to our hearts, Q39 supports the Colon Cancer Coalition‘s fight to end colon cancer with their annual fundraiser walk, Get Your Rear in Gear. We are pleased to serve a full BBQ spread to all the participants.

Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) is a worldwide competitive cooking organization that recognizes barbeque as America’s cuisine. Founded in 1985, KCBS is the leading authority on all things BBQ, with more than 15,000 members collectively and organized contests and competitions all over the world.

Q39’s founding partner, Chef Rob Magee, began his BBQ journey with KCBS in 2002. Now, Q39 leaders and associates are encouraged to participate in competitions, trainings and even judging KCBS events. We are proud to support KCBS by sponsoring contests and certified judging classes for our team to stay close to our origins of competition quality BBQ. Learn more here.

The Trent Green Golf Classic is a fundraising event for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City. Proceeds provide resources to support their mission of keeping families close. Q39 is proud to sponsor and serve up our delicious BBQ to guests on the green.
