On June 20th, Ecuadorian fans packed Q39’s dining hall, turning the restaurant into a sea of yellow, blue and red for a watch party as Ecuador played Curaçao in Kansas City. Xavier Echeerria, Q39’s Director of Operations who is originally from Ecuador himself, made this gathering possible. Echeerria said, “Ecuador, as you can see, we are like a family, a big family.” One fan from Ecuador who attended the gathering said the World Cup is a chance to bring his family back together who may be scattered all across the globe.
